Pole dancing goes beyond the practice itself, giving women the opportunity to improve their fitness whilst also building confidence in themselves. Pole dance courses involve learning new skills each week, such as spins and tricks, along with pole dancing routines.

As you progress your skills through each course level, you will be able to perform more complex tricks through building your strength and skill set every class at our Rowville studio. Our Instructors

Cassandra

Cassandra is the owner of 5D Squad and has been dancing ever since she was old enough to move her feet. She has trained in almost all styles of dance, her biggest love being for hip hop until she found pole back in 2003. She became a latin ballroom dance teacher by day and nightclub freestyle podium dancer by night after graduating high school then started 5D Squad in 2006.

Cat

Cat originally started out as a student of the studio back when we had our Collingwood studio! She was quickly sky rocketing through the syllabus and then had to take an expected break to have her 2 kids. She made a triumphant return after 12 years away from the pole and came back even stronger than before!

Cat has been involved with sports and coaching basketball and netball for as long as she can remember and that made her an obvious choice for an instructor at 5D. She’s extremely athletic and competitive and will push you to never give up, no mater how hard something might seem at first.

Luci

Luci spent years as a cheerleader and coaching gymnastics until she decided to give Pole Dancing a go. It turned out that she was an absolute machine on the Pole and her natural skills along with awesome training ethics landed her a spot on the teaching squad.

Luci loves dynamic tricks and big strength skills and has a teaching style which is just right for both adults who like a good push in their work outs and kids who want to have as much fun as possible. She is our resident handstand and balancing expert and can always be seen helping out everyone at the studio with whatever they are struggling with or just getting in with all the good camera angles for your Insta stories.

Rowan

Rowan was never very sporty growing up and didn’t do any dancing but when she decided to give Pole a go with us, she turned out to be a natural! When we noticed not only how beautifully Rowan dances but how much hard work she puts in to every second of class and how super helpful she was to all her class mates, we knew we had to share her magic with everyone as an instructor.

Rowan now teaches beginners level Pole and Chair Flow and is spreading her ray of sunshine attitude mixed with never ending patience and positivity throughout all her classes!

Virginia

Virginia also started as a student at 5D Squad and we quickly fell in love with her talent, sense of humour and dedication when she competed and placed in some of Melbourne’s pole dancing competitions. Since becoming an instructor, Virginia gave up her full time office job and has become a qualified Personal Trainer, specialising in post and pre natal PT as well as a full time physio. She runs her own boot camps in St Kilda and spends more of her time upside down than the right way up which, we think, gives her the perfect perspective on life!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is pole dancing difficult for beginners?
Learning pole dancing isn’t difficult to start! Our instructors at 5D Squad make sure to introduce you to the basics, and help you build confidence each and every class. We make sure that we are teaching you skills and combinations that align with your fitness levels and abilities to make sure you are always having a great time in class.
You are never too old to start pole dancing! We always encourage you to start a new hobby or develop a new skill no matter your age, especially pole dancing. Pole dance is a great way to keep fit whilst having fun and building connections with others in class.
We recommend that you come to class in what makes you feel most comfortable and confident. However, to properly learn and perform skills in your pole dancing class, we recommend shorts that can be rolled up to above your thighs, as this allows you to properly do skills. We also suggest bringing some kind of heels, boots or wedges, but this is not a requirement to participate in class.
We do not require any sort of fitness or flexibility level to begin your pole dancing journey with us. In class each week you will gain flexibility through training and learning new skills. Our instructors will guide you through the safest ways to improve your flexibility to create beautiful movements and combinations.
If you’re continuing your pole dance journey with 5D Squad, we are here to help you improve your skills and make you the best dancer you can be! We don’t believe in any assessments of your level, so feel free to join the class that best suits your current ability. However, we can help assess your abilities through a simple chat, or through a private class. Please contact us about continuing your training today!
At 5D Squad we offer flexible payment options to fit your lifestyle. Whilst we do recommend that you pay upfront for your course as it is cheaper and more convenient for you to keep track of, we do offer payment plans. You can pay weekly over the first four weeks of your course, with the addition of a small processing fee if you opt for a payment plan. For both payment types, we require a $50 deposit to secure your spot in the course.
